500m Salute 2 the Troops

Fools Fest Sprints salutes the memory and service of our troops. This Memorial Day weekend, we will race 500m with everything we've got in honor of those who gave everything they had and made the ultimate sacrifice. This will be a Triple Crown event.

Triple Crown? Racers are invited to compete in three 500m races. Do one, do two, do all three for the Triple Crown. Each of the three 500m intervals will have a 5-minute rest in between. Claim victory in one, two, or all three 500m races!

This event is a fundraiser for the DAV (Disabled American Veterans) Charitable Service Trust: https://cst.dav.org/, which receives a 100% 4-star rating on Charity Navigator. 10% of your entry fee will be donated. The Erg Rats are proud to lead the charge and encourage you to join our indoor infantry for this worthy event. All participants will receive a commemorative UV-protected vinyl Erg Rats Salute 2 the Troops decal.

• Full Entry $25 – All race merch and media
• Speed Pass Entry $15 – Race access only

Entry fees are the same for US and International racers and include shipping and handling.

500m Salute 2 The Troops Prizes!!

Full-entry racers will receive:

• 3" UV-protected vinyl Erg Rats Memorial Decal
• Certificate of completion
• A social media share image of their accomplishment

Speed Pass Racers will get access to the race but no merch or media.

• SGGM = Super Great Grand Master > 70
• GGM = Great Grand Master > 60
• GM = Grand Master – 50-60
• M = Master – 27-49
• O = Open – 20-26
• JR = Junior – 0-19

Weight Categories

• Lightweight Women: <= 135lbs (61.5kg)
• Heavyweight Women: > 135 lbs (61.6kg)
• Lightweight Men <= 165lbs (75kg)
• Heavyweight Men > 165lbs (75kg)

Start time is 9 am CDT

RACERS IN OTHER TIME ZONES may compete independently at their local time on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at 9 am, but MUST manually submit their results on ErgZone within 24 hours of completing the event at their local time.

COMPETING ON AN OLDER MODEL ERG? You can still compete if your erg doesn't have a PM5 monitor. You won't be able to connect to live racing on ErgZone, but once you manually submit your score on the ErgZone app, it will count in our official results and rankings.

There will be no refunds. Please know this upfront. We count on your entry fee to support this event and all its associated costs.
