This is an 8-week 500m indoor rowing training plan by Lightweight Men's World Record Holder and 3x 500m World Champion, Steve Tague. These workouts were used by Steve to break the Lightweight Men's 60 World Record, and win 3 World Championships in the 500m. The workouts were developed with the help of 2x Olympic Medalist Rebecca Romero, specifically for this purpose.
This plan will focus on building your strength, quickness and endurance to improve your 500m indoor rowing time. This program contains rowing workouts only and consists of 3-4 workouts per week including an endurance/recovery workout, with a lighter recovery week mid-way through, and a taper/race prep week before your final 500m test. Weight training workouts are not included but recommended for specific days. Rest days are also indicated.
